Terms and Conditions
“Hay House Farm – Canine Country Retreat” means Debra Hallard. “The Owner” means the person who has authorised Hay House Farm – Canine Country Retreat to take care of their dog(s).
- Submission of a booking form confirms the Owner’s acceptance of our Terms & Conditions.
- The fees chargeable will be in accordance with our published rate table.
- A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total accommodation fees is required for all bookings and must be paid within 7 days of making the booking. Bookings will regrettably have to be cancelled, if the deposit is not paid within 7 days. The remaining balance must be paid upon your dog’s arrival date.
- No dogs will be allowed to stay at Hay House Farm – Canine Country Retreat unless payment has been received for the full cost of the accommodation booked.
- Deposits are non-refundable, however, should you need to change the dates of your booking, your deposit will not be forfeited, so long as we have availability to suit your proposed changes. Should the booking be cancelled within four weeks of the arrival date, payment of the full amount (i.e. 100%) of the cost of the booked accommodation will be charged.
- The day of arrival and departure are both charged at a full day’s rate. If dogs are collected on the day of departure before 10.00am, no charge will be made for the day of departure.
- Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day will be charged at double rates.
- Our terms of payment are by bank transfer (BACS), or cash, only.
- The Owner must provide full, detailed and accurate information on the booking form in relation to their dog.
- If there are any facts or circumstances which should have been notified to Hay House Farm – Canine Country Retreat which would have affected the decision to accept the dog for home boarding and the same were withheld, may result in the dog being placed in boarding kennels with all costs to be borne by the Owner.
- All dogs must be up-to-date with vaccinations, worming and flea treatments.
- Dogs MUST be vaccinated against Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis (canine adenovirus), Leptospirosis (l. canicola and l. icterohaemorrhagicae), Canine Parvovirus and other relevant diseases. The course of vaccination must have been completed at least four weeks before the first date of boarding or in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
- For licensing reasons, Hay House Farm – Canine Country Retreat must hold your dog’s vaccination certificate for the duration of its stay. Your dog cannot be accepted without it!
- Dogs must be inoculated against Kennel Cough, which must have been administered more than two weeks prior to their stay.
- Hay House Farm – Canine Country Retreat may seek the assistance of a veterinary surgeon and authorise him/her to give any treatment deemed necessary and the Owner shall reimburse Hay House Farm – Canine Country Retreat for all expenses incurred.
- The veterinary practice which has agreed to provide 24 hour emergency care and assistance to Hay House Farm – Canine Country Retreat, is Blenheim Veterinary Centre, Ashbourne, Derbyshire (our own vets).
- Dogs must be fully socialised, completely house-trained, well-behaved and happy in the company of other dogs, people and livestock. They should also have good recall.
- Full replacement value of any property damaged by the Owner’s dog, which may include damage by defecation, or chewing of any furnishings or furniture, or for any other reason not necessarily listed here, which may occur. Such charges will be payable by the Owner when collecting their dog.
- Dogs which show aggression to other dogs, people or livestock, or who have previously bitten other dogs, people or livestock, are destructive or display unacceptable behaviour, will not be permitted to stay at Hay House Farm – Canine Country Retreat.
- No bitches in season, or due to come into season, can be accepted for home boarding at Hay House Farm – Canine Country Retreat.
- All male dogs must be neutered.
- No dogs registered under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 will be accepted for home boarding at Hay House Farm – Canine Country Retreat.
- Dog hybrids registered under the Dangerous Wild Animal Act 1976 (e.g. Wolf Hybrids) will not be accepted for home boarding at Hay House Farm – Canine Country Retreat.
- Puppies under the age of 12 months may incur an additional charge per day.
- For licensing reasons, no puppies under the age of 6 months can be accepted by Hay House Farm – Canine Country Retreat.
