Dog-Friendly

If you are a well-behaved, friendly dog, Hay House Farm warmly welcomes you, too. You will be provided with a full Welcome Pack in your owner's room, including squidgy dog bed, fluffy blanket, a towel (to dry your wet paws and tummy with), a torch, feeding bowl, doggie bags, yummy treats and sample of CSJ dog food. Hay House Farm has a fully fenced paddock, at the rear of the farmhouse, where you can run off-lead to your heart's content and a doggie paddling pool in the summer months, to keep you cool. All our village pubs are dog-friendly, so you can go for a pint with your owners, and Hay House Farm offers a dog-sitting service, for both daytime or evenings (booking required and subject to availability), if your owners want to visit an attraction or venue where you are not allowed. As we have free-range chickens and pedigree Ryeland sheep at Hay House Farm, you must promise us that you will not chase them, bark at them, or try to harm them in any way, otherwise you will have to go back home!

Dogs are accommodated FREE OF CHARGE.

The Old Hayloft

A large en-suite bedroom with double and single beds, situated across the upper galleried landing in the 1625 wing of Hay House Farm. This magnificent room, with oak timber frames and beams, stone mullioned windows and exposed stone wall, was the original hay loft to the Farm, almost four hundred years ago. An extremely spacious bathroom and hallway completes the Old Hayloft, which is a perfect room for families. An additional put-me-up bed can be placed in the Old Hayloft, if required, enabling two adults and two children to stay together

The Sherwin Room

A double, en-suite bedroom in the 1700s wing of Hay House Farm. This lovely room has beautiful views across the landscaped gardens and sheep fields from its stone mullioned window. With oak timbered wall, exposed wattle panel and low beamed ceilings, The Sherwin Room oozes history and charm and is an ideal place to relax and unwind.

The Sherwin Room proudly displays an original watercolour by the late, acclaimed artist, Frank Sherwin (1896 to1986), a descendant of the original Sherwin family who lived and farmed here in the 1500s to 1700s. The beautiful watercolour was very generously donated to us by Sarah Castle, Frank Sherwin's daughter, and we display her late father's work with immense pride.
